What's seasonal

We have venison on the menu at the moment. Served with a rich sauce, Dauphinoise Potatoes and a selection of vegetables.

Light Bites and Starters

Pigeon Breast

Locally sourced, served sliced on a bed of warm salad leaves with lardons of bacon


Smoked Haddock Omelette

Presented on creamed spinach topped with grated Parmesan Cheese


Crispy Whitebait and Lemon

With a crisp salad garnish and tartar sauce


Smoked Salmon, King Prawn and Avocado

On salad leaves with mayo and lemon


Lamb Sweetbreads

Fried and served on a bed of creamed spinach with gently fried onions


King Prawns 

Cooked in garlic butter and lemon


Avocado and Spinach Bake

Topped with Parmesan Cheese [v]


Our Own Cooked Ham

With a choice of egg and chips or salad and new potatoes


Chicken, Mushroom & Tarragon Pie

Served with chips and veg


Pappardelle Pasta

Ribbon pasta cooked with haloumi, spinach, garlic, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes [v - a favourite with vegetarians], or served with lardons of bacon

Made with Salmon, Cod and Smoked Haddock, topped with mash and cheese and then finished under the grill



Our desserts are a reason to visit in themselves. We make all of them on the premises so you won't taste the like elsewhere.


Brioche Bread and Butter Pudding

Made with apricots and raisons soaked in brandy, served with creme Anglaise

Icky Sticky Toffee Pudding

From the original recipe from the Lake District. Satisfying in a very fundamental way.
